All the time in the world

Hulk is not famous for being early. It is perhaps fair to say that Hulk's reputation for tardiness is not quite on par with that of his beloved Pop, Cap'n, but Hulk tends to experience time as a fluid sort of a thing; difficult to tie-down and best left to its own devices.

That said, it also bears mentioning that Hulk is, you might say, wrapped a little tight. Yes it's true, he tends toward hyper-vigilance and worries over things. Things like Baby getting eaten by bears on her Very Yellow Velo (TM), or squished by Elks, or lost and disappeared into the Spooky Town Of No Telephones. Yes, Hulk worries.

So on this particular day, as Hulk planned to head north to Canada, Baby's native land, he wanted to make belt-and-suspenders sure that we was not late. Not even a little. Not even if the Quebecois border guards decided to strip the carpets and seats out of the Big Blue Box car, no, not even then would Hulk miss his plane to get to Baby. So Hulk left Albany at 6:30 am to catch a 3:30 flight from Montreal.

Hulk made his flight on time.

Actually, Hulk made it from home to parking garage at the airport in exactly four hours, including a gas stop and a 30 second chat with a very friendly Quebecois border guard.

So having parked the car--twice, because the first time the automated parking lot machines outsmarted him--Hulk has been exploring the airport for hours now, and has a few more to go. He is well fed, crrrfeed, Oon-ter-webbed, has a stack of books to make towers out of for ant&mouse hide& seek, and even got a phone call from Baby.

Hulk is certain that there are elves in the airport who keep things running smoothly. He has not seen them yet but intends to keep a weather eye out and will report back later.

But mostly, Hulk is delighted and ecstatic to be seeing Baby in just a few hours. It has been weeks and weeks and Hulk figures that, sleepy ol' oil town or no, Edmonton might just get to be one of his favorite places if only by virtue of the fact that it is the city that will give him back his baby. Hulk is also really looking forward to meeting Baby's family for the first time.

Tales of the wild, wild, West to follow.

Are you two lost in the Spooky Town of No Internet Access? How's the weather this time of year in that part of the Great White North? It's hot here today (90s) after a couple of beautiful fall days earlier in the week...
