Critters On Wheels: A bi-National update (AKA Buffalo, Bunnies and Bike Rides)

Phew!! Hulk & Baby are tired. Today was an ice-cream-for-breakfast sort of day that also included some quality gardening and a loooong nap.

Since they have been a little off the map for the last couple of weeks, Hulk & Baby thought it would be a nice idea to catch y'all up on Baby's return from Poet Camp (TM), Hulk's introduction to Tim Horton's, Baby's detention by the Mean Ol' Dumbhead U.S. Border Guard (TM), recent progress in--and pictures of--the Hulk & Baby garden, and some bike pedaling news, to boot.

Ready? Good.

On 6/5, Hulk arrived in Ed-mon-ton an hour earlier than expected. The nice folks at Westjet were so on the ball that the flight was early and all was well. But, sadly, Baby did not know this. Sadderly (TM) and more funnily, too, Baby encountered a string of logistical oopsies, surly airport shuttle drivers and general skulduggery and was thusly a bit late to her Hulk.

No matter, though, as Hulk had some Tim Horton's jo, a donut, and his giant-and-apparently very-interesting-to-passersby-suitcase (aka bike bag) with him. And more to the point, when Baby did show up she was a sight for sore eyes. Yowzah. Hulk swoons...
So back on the shuttle and of to the rented dorm room in the conference center of the University of Alberta at Edmonton. Pretty basic digs but more than enough for a couple of dreamy, poet-souled low maintenance kids like Hulk & Baby.

Thus began a week that included eating, walking, more eating, more walking, more eating, Coire's Crazy Cool Canadian Convocation (TM), a groovy visit to a nature park full of Buffalo, a couple of bike rides (with Buffalo), magpies, jackrabbits, and smores. S'mores.

And then it was time to head home. A not so bad flight and a long, slow doofy border crossing. Nothing could disturb the bliss of Hulk&Baby re-entering Albany, though. The drive down through the Adirondacks was beautiful and interrupted by a gas and ice cream stop on the shores of Schroon Lake where Hulk&Baby were chased away by mosquitoes. Ouch.

And now Hulk&Baby have been home for two weeks, planting their garden, riding bikes, managing a not always well-behaved (but always loveable and good-natured) Piggy, and then planting their garden some more.

All is well.
